ChitraDesign® CholeDerm™ is a Scaffold (CDS). It is essentially an acellular natural biodegradable matrix having mesh like architecture that supports proliferation of valvular endothelial cells in vitro with macromolecules and mechanical properties suitable for tissue engineering. Further, the extent of cross linking and functionalization of the matrix can be modulated as required for specific tissue engineering application. Moreover, observations through animal experiments have indicated that, it is a candidate biomaterial for fabricating buttressing staples used during gastrointestinal resection and skin wound healing matrix.
